Cagayan villages get medical attention

TUGUEGARRAO CITY (Mar. 27) — A four-day medical and dental mission was successfully conducted in barangay Sicalao of Lasam municipality, and barangays Abarriongan and Balanni of Sto. Niño municipality in Cagayan last March 23-26. Residents in the said barangays claim they lack government health care services.

The said medical and dental mission was launched by Center for Relief and Rehabilitation Services-Cagayan Valley (CRRS-CV), Gabriela and Kagimungan in cooperation with Regional Development Center (RDC-CV), Council for health and Development, Community Medicine Development, Redemptorists Medical and Dental Services, 2nd District Rep. Florentino Vargas and the Philippine National Red Cross.

The said activity-training emphasized on preventive education covering comprehensive discussions on diseases like tuberculosis (TB) and malaria; laboratory processes on how to detect malaria strains; and the various stages of TB.
