Missing Aggay farmer found

BAGUIO CITY – The reported Aggay farmer was located today.

According to Karapatan-Cagayan Valley, relatives together with volunteer human rights workers located Lenor Danao at the Municipal Office of the Philippines National Police(PNP) in Rizal, Cagayan at around 5:30PM, October 3. Furthermore, Danao is facing trumped up charges for the violation of RA 10591 or the Comprehensive law on Firearms and Ammunitions.  

Danao was taken by 25 soldiers belived to be from the 17th Infantry Battalion of the Philippines Army(IBPA) on the morning of October 1. The soldiers arrived at the hut of Danao and started searching according to Karapatan-CV report.  The soldiers allegedly, found a gun outside the hut and said it belonged to the victim.

What happened to Danao is not the first case, according to Karapatan.  Last July 20, operating soldiers belonging to the 17th IB abducted a Malaweg – Marlon Baganay, and two Aggays – Mendio Bisiotan and Lando Daryuin.  They were later surfaced at a military camp in Lasam, Cagayan on July 23.#nordis.net
