Results of Baguio “election survey” bared
BAGUIO CITY (Apr. 20) — Molintas, Bautista, Fariñas and Rondez scored high in the recent “mock elections” in Baguio City on April 18.
Raje Business Solutions released a result of their first election survey based on a random sampling of 135 registered voters who volunteered to cast their votes on April 18 at a stand put up by the said company along Session Road here.
Sample Poll Results show that for congressman, Jose Molintas ranks first with 68 votes or 55.74 percent, followed by former Congressman Mauricio Domogan with 52 votes or 42.62 percent. Peter Rey Bautista won over former Mayor Braulio Yaranon in the mayoral seat at 62 votes or 49.21 percent and 29 votes or 23.02 percent respectively. While Atty. Elmo Nevada stays at the bottom of the list with only two votes or 1.59 percent.
A high 58 out of the 135 respondents or 19.57 percent favor Danny Fariñas for the vice-mayoral seat with 49.57 percent followed by Faustino Olowan with 19 votes or 6.24 %. Edilberto Tenefrancia got 15 votes or 12.8%; Roberto Ortega 13 or 11.11%; Elmer Datuin 10 or 8.5% and Antolin Mascarinas 2 or 1.17%.
Meanwhile, a close fight remains among re-electionists and new candidates vying for a seat in the City Council. Results of the informal survey for City Councilors are as follows: Rondez, Pinky (71 votes or 6.46%); Tabanda, Lulu (69 or 6.28%); Balisong, Rocky (59 or 5.37%); Tabora, Tony Boy (53 or 4.82%); Bilog, Ed (52 or 4.73%); Weygan, Galo (50 or 4.55%); Cariño, Richard (46 or 4.19%); Cosalan Jr., Popo (44 or 4.00%); Itliong Jr., Jonie (39 or 3.55%); Balajadia, Erding (38 or 3.46%); Aliping Jr., Bot-bot (37 or 3.37%); Cortes, Rene (35 or 3.18%); Tamayo, Jogin (34 or 3.09%); Cawiding, Taga (30 or 2.73%); Zarate, Richard (28 or 2.55%); Mandapat, Butch (27 or 2.46%); Fianza, Michael (25 or 2.27%); Palaganas, Nick (25 or 2.27%); Parado IV, Nick (25 or 2.27%); and Perez, Ronnie (25 or 2.27). Becasen, Mendoza, Gonzalez, Marlangaue and Saculles garnered least votes and stays on the bottom of the list.
As for the senatoriables, Raje Business Options survey results show that Chiz Escudero has the most number of votes with 91 or 7.60 percent while Victor Wood has the least with only one vote or 0.08 percent. The list of candidates and their respective votes are as follows: Escudero, Chiz (91 or 7.60%); Legarda, Loren (86 or 7.18%); Cayetano, Allan Peter (76 or 6.34%); Pangilinan, Kiko (70 or 5.84%); Villar, Manny (69 or 5.76%); Lacson, Ping(66 or 5.51%); Arroyo, Joker (65 or 5.43%); Aquino, Noynoy (61 or 5.09%); Recto, Ralph (59 or 4.92%); Honasan, Gringo (55 or 4.59%); Trillanes, Magdalo (48 or 4.01%); Angara, Ed (48 or 4.01%); Roco, Sonia (44 or 3.67%); Zubiri, Migz (38 or 3.17%); and Pimentel, Koko (37 or 3.09%). However, Commission on Election’s (Comelec) official list for senatorial candidates include Cantal, Felix; Estrella, Antonio and Orpilla, Eduardo who do not appear on the list of the said survey.
As for the Party-list candidates, Gabriela, Kabataan and Bayan Muna are on the top three. However, some party-list names that have already been disqualified and some names that are not included in Comelec’s official list of candidates for party-list appear to have been voted by the respondents, these are: LADLAD, FFAP, tricap, PGBI, Kapatiran, genuine opposition, FIRST KABAGIS and The Teacher.
Raje Business Solutions’ Sample Polls Official Survey Result is generated by the Sample Polls Counting Dbase Program 2007, a computer database program devised by the company for counting results of the said survey. Atty. Eric G. Santos, spokesperson of Raje Business Solutions says that the results of this informal survey on the senatoriables and party-list candidates appear similar to other national surveys.
