Bartenders join Panagbenga

BAGUIO CITY (Feb. 17) – Philippine Bartenders League (PBL), Baguio City Chapter contributed their nationwide competition on flair tending at the Baguio Convention Center last February 16 as part of the month long Panagbenga Festival activities.
Romeo Gabrielle Bagastos, PBL-Baguio City president claimed that the event was the first Panagbenga Invitational Flair tending competition. He said the main objective of the said event is to develop skills of flair tenders and future flair tenders in the country.
“This (competition) projects self discipline, dedication and the passion for flair tending,” Bagtasos said.
The said event featured two categories,the professional level for working flair tender from the different bars and hotels and the non-professional level for students from the different schools and universities in the Philippines. Among the schools who participated were the University of Baguio (UB), University of the Cordillera (UC), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Benguet State University (BSU), Fatima Collage, Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP), National Collage of Business Administration (NCBA), Lyceum of Manila and Iligan Medical Collage in Mindanao.
Participants were required a five-minute exhibition and a well-presented cocktail mixture. Fernando David of Pine View Hotel won the professional category, with Billy Ignacio of Session Delights as 1st runner up and Edie Valdez of Alacate as 2nd runner up.
Lhourenz Lumanug of UB won the non-professional level with Jomar Bautista of Manila as 1st runner up and Chester Allan Santos of NCBA as 2nd runner up. # Abegail Lachica for NORDIS
