Today is Christmas eve! People are now busy preparing for tomorrow- Christmas day. But in the rush of this season let us not forget its meaning – giving; but not only gifts and material things but more importantly quality time with our loved ones. One special way to spend quality time with them is of course, through biking.
I am sure it would be difficult for you to find a kid who does not like to ride a bicycle. To a youngster, there isn’t simply much that can offer the same freedom and independence. The bike can be their means of transportation and a plaything at the same time. It will also be a healthy form of exercise and it helps improve balance and stamina. If they do not know how to ride a bike, this Christmas vacation is a great time to teach them how.
When teaching your kid how to bike make sure the learning experience would be full of fun for both of you. You could always go to a place where there are lots of space and less people. Boost your child’s confidence by helping him with his first few yards, you will have to run with him and hold the bike for him while he familiarizes himself with balancing the wheel. He is bound to fall down during the first tries of his own but this should serve as challenge for him to continue. It would not matter how many times he falls as long as you’re there to support him along the way. Eventually, he will be making it on his own and biking to his heart’s delight.
You can test this newly acquired biking skill on Christmas day after making the rounds of visits to relatives, ninongs and ninangs, you can all go biking in Burnham Park. It is not competitive biking but it is a lot of fun for the family. #
