Welcome to the Nordis Blog
October 16, 2005 in general
Welcome to the web-based logbook (aka “blog”) of the Nordis Weekly and other NMIN activities. Since blogging is a rather new tool for us, we will see in practice if this recent Internet tool is useful and practical for us, or just another over-hyped ningas-cogon ek-ek. For now, we will allow any visitor to post comments on blog entries, without the need to register. If we see that this results in much abuse (although we can simply delete spam), we will shift to registered users-only mode. Posting new entries (i.e., more than just comments on existing entries) would still require users to register. Sorry, not our fault, that’s the basic requirement of the blog software we are using.

Yes, Nordis blog is being spammed very regularly. Much of it is stopped at the moderator level, but it seems more and more are able to bypass the moderation process. We’re looking at ways to stem the flow en masse, otherwise it will have to be a tedious, day-by-day weeding out. Sorry about that.
Ammay ay urkiw tako am-in!
I must congratulate Nordis for being different, being an alternative newspaper, that is. Although I read the weekly newspapers, I come to loathe the fact that most of its content are for publicity sake only, the dirty job.
As for Nordis, I appreciate its way of treating every article. every story being published has its shape, has a story to share to its readers.
I’m working outside Cordillera thus I can no longer buy Nordis at the sidewalk news stands. So Im relying on your website. I hope that you’ll continue the stuggle to serve the people, through words, through your paper.
