BAGUIO CITY — The UP Baguio Cordillera Studies Center (CSC) will launch two new publications on April 24, Friday, 10:30 A.M., at the UP Baguio Multipurpose Hall.

The first to be launched is the inaugural issue of The Cordillera Review, a multidisciplinary refereed journal devoted to studies on Philippine culture and society. The inaugural issue features articles by Dr. Lawrence Reid of the University of Hawai’i at Manoa, Dr. Resil Mojares of the University of San Carlos, and Dr. June Prill-Brett, Dr. Raymundo Rovillos, and Prof. Analyn Salvador-Amores of the University of the Philippines Baguio.

The second publication is the book Fragments of a City’s History: A Documentary History of Baguio. Published on the occasion of the centennial of the establishment of Baguio as a chartered city, the book is an attempt to chronicle the history of Baguio through a selection of documentary sources. The book was earlier released in time for the CSC-sponsored Baguio Centennial Conference held last March.

The book launching is open to the public. For inquiries, call the UP Baguio Cordillera Studies Center (442-5794). # UP-CSC release
