DFA Baguio office opens December 8

BAGUIO CITY — Cordillerans, especially Baguio City residents, will soon avail of daily services of the foreign affairs department with its new office ready on December 8.

The said office would be opened with actual processing and issuance of passports to old and new passport applicants.

Passport application forms are now available and pre-evaluation of documents of applicant is on-going at City Hal in preparation for the opening of the local office of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) at the Jose Miguel building, near Justice Hall.

Around 688 renewed and new passports shall be released on December 5. These are said to be machine-readable, electronic-passports (e-passport), as all new issuances shall be. Passports which are not claimed after six months will be canceled, as to a department order.

The soon-to be-opened DFA office is being prepared by Baguio local officials in coordination with the main DFA.

The establishment of DFA Baguio, aims to ease difficulties and expenses of applicants, from here and neighboring towns, in traveling to the DFA office in San Fernando, La Union. # Julie G. Fianza/PIO-Baguio City
