TUBA, Benguet — Benguet highways might just be earning a bad moniker as “dumping areas for salvaged victims” as a scavenger found Tuesday another body, believed to be an extra-judicial execution, dumped in a 16-foot ravine along Kennon Road in Camp 5 barangay here.

Later on identified by his brother as Angelito R. Aguinaldo, 41, single and a businessman from Mabini St. in Cuyapo town, Nueva Ecija, the victim, was found, wrapped with a yellow garbage bag from head to waist, said Benguet police director Sr. Supt.  Danilo Pelisco.

Probers found a yellow cord tied around the victim’s neck and showed a laceration on his left upper eyebrow. Aguinaldo was wearing a fatigue six-pocket short pants, white polo shirt and ball cap.

Florido Aguinaldo told policemen his elder brother was last seen on October 17 bound for Villasis town in Pangasinan.   

Pelisco claimed they are still probing the incident.

A month ago, a headless, without left and right middle fingers and castrated  male cadaver also believed to be a victim of summary execution was found along the Baguio-Nueva Vizcaya Highway in barangay Tinongdan, Itogon town also in Benguet.

Identified by his relatives at the Paz funeral parlor in Baguio City as Marcos Balawag, supposedly a jueteng kobrador (bet collector) from barangay Bakakeng in Baguio City, was found dumped in a 113-foot ravine in sitio Guesset, Tinongdan.

Balawag, authorities said, was the gunman during the early evening bloody heist at the money changer section at the Baguio public market several months ago killing security guard Ceferino Condaya and hurting another.  

The Baguio City police however have not named Balawag in their investigation as the gunman in the bloody heist as no eye witnesses offered descriptions on the perpetrators.

Authorities claimed Balawag is the leader of a notorious gang involved in a series of robberies against taxicabs in Baguio City and nearby Benguet province. # Ace Alegre
