Kalinga reorganizes Tourism Council
TABUK CITY, Kalinga (Nov. 23) — The Kalinga Provincial Tourism Council (PTC) chose its new set of officers at the Sangguniang Panlalawigan Hall last November 19.
Newly installed officers were Natividad Sugguiyao of the Chico River Quest Incorporated as chair; Tabuk City Councilor Sandra Mejia as vice-chair; Secretary, Marie Soccoro Chaclag of Ayatu’s and Grace Agtina, owner of the Our Tribe Food Products as treasurers.
Other officers include Tinglayan Municipal Tourism Officer Noel Macaiba as auditor; 501stBrigade Commanding Officer (CO) Col. Roberto Morales and Geraldine Dumallig of the Philippine Information Agency as press relation officers and Engineer Edwin Tubban of the Provincial Engineering Office and Lt. Outmigration bothers Ifugao LGU
HUNGDUAN, Ifugao (Nov. 23) – Outmigration is one of the major problems the local government unit (LGU) of Hungduan faces as residents seek better opportunities in neighboring towns.
Mayor Pablo Cuyahon said the working age-group is moving out of the municipality leaving the children and the senior citizens behind. He said the town has a 9,380 population, mostly woodcarvers and farmers. He disclosed that most woodcarvers migrate to Pugo, La Union; Asin, Baguio City and Olongapo City.
Cuyahon admitted this is an alarming situation which his administration is facing.

MP observes Malaria Awareness Month
BONTOC, Mt. Province (Nov. 23) – In observance of Malaria Awareness Month this November, the Global Fund Malaria Project (GFMP) intensified its information campaign on the prevention of the mosquito-spread disease..
Lorna Panyo, in-charge of the GFMP said the group is conducting information and education campaigns on malaria prevention through radio guesting. She added the group also distributes mosquito nets.
Aside from the mosquito nets, GFMP also provides K-Othrine tablets, which is used in treating the mosquito nets. # Juliet Saley/PIA MP
