Baguio City pays tribute to outstanding employees

BAGUIO CITY (Sept. 28) — The city honored this year’s outstanding and loyal employees during the traditional awards program and luncheon as the city celebrated the 107th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary at the Prince Plaza Hotel here.
Professor Rene Resurrection, an advocate for passion and perfection, served as guest of honor and speaker during the program. He exhorted the employees to strive for excellence always and to be the best in everything they do whether they are in the government or private service and whether they are working in or outside the country.
A total of 214 employees were honored with the 11 outstanding workers who were selected from 26 nominees from the different departments of the city government.
This year’s outstanding employees are: Raquel Ancheta of the accounting office; Bernardo Bagano of city assessor’s office; Juliet Macatulad, buildings and architecture office; Getulio Ilao, engineering office; Reyphil Florida, general services office; John Tinoyan, health services officer; Sabado Ugalde, human resource management office; Maribeth Ramirez, city council; Cynthia Langagan, social welfare office; Rosauro Romualdo, treasury office; and Pauline Dayotao, veterinary office.
They were selected based on the criteria set by the Program on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence (PRAISE) Committee chaired by the mayor.
Joining the outstanding honorees are the 203 loyalty awardees who have rendered ten, 15, 20, 25, 30 and 35 years of service and 11 others who finished post graduate courses.
The loyalty awardees who have served city hall for 35 years are Juanito Caoile of the assessor’s office, Dante Rotor of the city budget office, Ernesto Mandapat (City Environment and Parks Management Office); City Engineer Leo Bernardez Jr., Pepe Pugong (engineering office), Loreta De Guzman, Melita Repalda and Evelyn Sadorra all of the city council; Marietta Catriz and Corazon Garlejo, both of the treasury office; and Alfredo Rindon and Patricio Soriano of the Municipal Trial Court.
Also cited during the program were the outstanding employees of each month from August 2006 to March 2007.
This year’s celebrations focused on the theme, “Itaguyod ang Kasarinlan ng Career Service.” # PIO-CMO
