BAGUIO CITY — The council committee on Urban Planning, Lands and Housing chaired by Councilor Isabelo Cosalan recommended that the volumes one and three of the proposed updated comprehensive land use plan (CLUP) for the City Year 2010-2020 be returned to the City Development Council (CDC).

The committee moved to return the CLUP to the CDC through the office of the City Planning and Development Coordinator, Secretariat of the CDC for appropriate revision or adjustment prior to further action. Raw transcripts from the consultations held at different barangays of the city are also forwarded to the CDC for reference, information and guidance.

Contained in Volume one of the CLUP is the Comprehensive Land Use Plan where uses of different spots of the city are determined. Volume three is the sectoral studies where different sectors, groups and businesses are defined.

The volume two of the CUP which is the zoning ordinance will be retained to the council committee for the members will work simultaneously. Zoning ordinances defines the physical positioning and structuring of establishments according to the designated lot.

The proposed CLUP undergoes planning process from the data gathering, analysis and validation until the review of approval of CLUP and Zoning ordinance. Said CLUP is to address the growing population of the Baguio and the carrying capacity of the city. # nordis.net
