BAGUIO CITY – Tongtongan Ti Umili (TTU) staged a photo exhibit at Malcom square as protest to the Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement (EDCA) and observance of the fourth of July Filipino-American friendship day.

In their exhibit, it featured photos, statements and information about the disadvantages of the provisions of EDCA to Filipinos and how it violates Philippine sovereignty.

TTU Secretary-General Tracy Anne Dumalo stressed that PNOY handed our Philippine sovereignty in a silver platter to US President Barrack Obama during his visit late April when he signed EDCA.

Aside from EDCA photo exhibit the group also delivered speeches as they presented their disgust against the Aquino regime. “In the span of four years, it was proven that programs and policies under the BS Aquino regime are limited only to elite individuals making the rich more richer and the poor more poorer”, said Dumalo.

Dumalo added, “we recall what PNOY promised during his inauguration, ‘walang mahirap kung walang korap’ but now, it’s not rocket science to the Filipino people that the growing number of Filipinos suffering from poverty is all due to the corrupt president”.

Their activity is part of a series to build up to a national coordinated protest action on the annual state of the nation address of PNOY. The group announced that they will be conducting a series of activities starting from July 16, a state of the youth address, July 21 a state of the women’s and teachers’ address to their culminating activity on July 28 – SONA ng mamamayan at the Igorot Park. # nordis.net
