2 dead, 2 injured as Easter Weaving van falls in Ifugao ravine

BAGUIO CITY – A Toyota Hi-ace Van owned by the Easter Weaving here fell into a more than 500 meter deep ravine in Aguinaldo, Ifugao province at 4:30 AM on Monday, June 30.

The accident led to the death of Edward Doligas and Clifford Fawayan and to the injury of Ramon Gagaoin, 60 years old, and Fely Borbe, 48 years old.

Doligas, the husband of the Easter Weaving General Manager, was driving the van when the accident happened. Fawayan was with him in the front seat while the other two injured were at the back.

Provincial police who immediately responded and rescued Gagaoin and rushed him to the Aguinaldo Peoples Hospital while Borbe was brought to the Potia District hospital. They were re-transported to the Pines Doctors General Hospital where they are recuperating at the moment.

A staff member of the Easter Weaving, in an interview, said that the victims were on their way to Aguinaldo to meet the municipal employees to get measurements for their uniforms. This was their second trip to the area, he added.

Easter Weaving is an Anglican institution engaged in the business of producing and selling indigenous woven products. # nordis.net
